Once an orphan in Daegu, South Korea, Mark Kyungsoo Bias was adopted and sent to the United States at an early age. He is a 2021 Tin House Scholar and a recipient of the 2020 William Matthews Poetry Prize selected by Ilya Kaminsky. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Adroit Journal, Asheville Poetry Review, Best New Poets, The Common, PANK, and Raleigh Review, among others. He received his MA from The College of New Jersey. He is currently an MFA Poetry Candidate and REAL Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an instructor at the Juniper Institute for Young Writers, and a consultant at Grubstreet.
